Girlicious member arrested for cocaine possession

Girlicious member Natalie Mejia has been arrested for cocaine possession in California.

The singer was on her way to Toronto to take part in tonight’s Fan Fest concert when she was arrested Tuesday night, the Glendale News Press is reporting. The Los Angeles County Police allegedly found more than a dozen individual packages of cocaine in Mejia’s Gucci purse.

Mejia, 21, is currently being held in Glendale City Jail on $30,000 bond. She was arrested along with Peter Asencio, after a police officer pulled over a 1998 Ford Mustang speeding, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said in a statement.

The police search happened after it was discovered that Asencio’s license had been suspended. According to Lorenz, Mejia “doesn’t know how [the cocaine] got into her purse.”

Both Mejia and Ascencio were charged with suspicion of possessing cocaine for sale. Ascencio was also charged for driving with a suspended license.
