Gleecap: Episode 11

December 3rd, 2009

So, Gleeks… did you see Wednesday’s episode?

The episode was all about leaving your mark, and getting recognition. I laughed, I cried, I opened my eyes up really wide… almost as wide as Ms. Pillsbury’s.

Ahhh, yearbook photos. A joyous time for some, yes, but for those in the Glee Club, it’s a fearful time. Being remembered as the geeks of the school sucks, and being “defaced” (Sharpie mustaches, safety pink carvings, etc.), sucks even more. So High School. Of course, Rachel was the only one who wanted her photo in the yearbook. It was so sweet when her & Finn sang “Smile”, British accents and all… and I loved how she convinced him to be in the photo with her. Even though that didn’t really matter in the end, I thought it was a great addition to the storyline, and the developing of Finchel. Woo Hoo!

My favorite part of the episode (by far) was the mattress commercial! I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen, and was even a little tempted to put on my PJs and jump around on my bed. I figured, though, it wouldn’t have the same effect.

I must admit, I was slightly disappointed that there were only 3 songs in this episode… “Smile” by Lily Allen, “Smile” by Charlie Chaplin, and “Jum”p by Van Halen. I guess it didn’t work with the storyline to put more songs in.

Soooooo… the jig is up, Terri. How long did you think you’d get away with hiding the pregnancy? Wasn’t that fake belly uncomfortable? Probably not nearly as uncomfortable as it was when Mr. Shue found out. We definitely saw a different side of both Mr. Shue and Terri this week. The big question is: do we feel sorry for Terri? Yes, part of me wants to feel sorry for her, but she did the wrong thing on so many levels.

Ms. Pillsbury continued to convince herself that she should marry Ken, even though that commitment is certainly not stopping her from having feelings for Mr. Shue. It was hilarious how she assumed divorce when Will told her about Terri. This is the perfect time to get together. I sure hope they do!

Even though the Glee Club didn’t want their pictures in the yearbook, I thought it was nice of Quinn to blackmail Sue to get them a page of their own. And even thought they were defaced, it showed how far they’ve come. At the beginning of the season, they’d be embarrassed, but this week, they owned it!

Wasn’t it sad when Mr. Shue had to sleep at the school? It was even worse when the team was dq-ed from sectionals because he slept on one of the new mattresses. It was great that he managed to find away around the rule and took a bullet for the team. Solid. The club seems to always find away around things, but hey, it’s not over until the Glee Club sings (which happens to be at sectionals on next week’s fall finale episode!)

Were any of you guys also disappointed at the lack of breaking out into song this week? Are you happy that Terri was busted? Do you feel sorry for her? Do you want Ms Pillsbury to follow her heart and confess her love for Mr. Shue? Lemme know down below!
