So the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for the 2009 Golden Globes this morning – does anyone watch the Golden Globes anymore? Or any non-teen awards shows like the Oscars, American Music Awards or Grammys?
I feel like I must not have watched a lot of movies in 2008, cause I’ve seen hardly any of these. The only best picture nominee I’ve seen is Burn After Reading. What the…
But check the Best Director category – with the exception of “Stephen Daldry” (never heard of him OR his movie, The Reader), it’s a blockbuster category: Danny Boyle (The Beach, 28 Days Later), David Fincher (Fight Club, Zodiac), Ron Howard (American Beauty, Arrested Development) and Sam Mendes (American Beauty).
