I know it’s a little late but Happy New Years everyone!

In the past week or so, I’ve come across two really fun things. The first of which, is a youtube video of genius music video director turned film director Michel Gondry, solving a rubiks cube with his feet — seriously, who does that?

Although it looks remarkably real there’s a visual trick involved – it’s Gondry you know… Can you guys figure out what it is? There is a youtube commentary video out there with the solution but try to figure it out on your own first!

Secondly, on Rolling Stone’s site I came across this adorable photo of Brandon Flowers, taken from the set of The Killers’ new video ‘Ready My Mind.’

The tinfoil ‘brain-melding’(as Rolling Stone called it) caps gives me the impression that this video is going to be a Michel Gondry or Dougal Wilson esque kind of video – whimisical and a bit off-beat…Speaking of whimisical, the latest Norah Jones video is a little too similar to Gondry’s live action meets animation videos (i.e. The Science Of Sleep, Radiohead’s ‘Knives Out,’ Bjork’s ‘Human Behaviour’and Foo Fighters ‘Everlong), if you catch my drift… Being inspired by a particular director’s work is one thing but mimmicking is a whole other beast…
