Googley Gaga Eyes Dangerous For Your Sight

Lady Gaga’s bug eyed look from her “Bad Romance” music video has sparked a contact lense trend that is worrying some eye specialists. In the video, Gaga’s eyes make her look like a doe eyed anime heroine. Now her North American fans are importing special contact lenses called circle lenses from Asia. Joyce Kim, the founder of Asian pop site Soompi.com told Splash News, “It’s like wearing mascara or eyeliner. In the past year, there’s been a sharp increase in interest in the U.S.”

But, some doctors are warning that without the recommendation of an eye care specialist, contact lenses can cause permanent damage and even blindness. Dr. Barry Eiden of the American Optometric Association said that people selling these lenses online, “are encouraging the avoidance of professional care.”

And come on, don’t they just look kind of creepy too?
