While most iPad owners are still at the point of loading up on apps and enjoying their photos at a greater size than the iPod Touch’s piddly screen, Gorillaz have made an album with the latest Apple product.
In an interview with NME, frontman Damon Albarn said that somehow the band have already made a follow-up to this year’s Plastic Beach on an iPad of all things.
“I’ve made it on an iPad – I hope I’ll be making the first record on an iPad,” he said. “I fell in love with my iPad as soon as I got it, so I’ve made a completely different kind of record.”
It seems a bit too early to achieve such a thing, but according to Albarn, no one is as surprised as he is.
“It’s ironic, being the sort of technophobe and Luddite that I am,” he said. “It sounds like an English voice that has been put through the vocoder of America. More American-sounding than [his other band] Blur … I’m going to try and put it out before Christmas.”
Another Gorillaz album by Christmas? Yes please. Though, can an album recorded on an iPad sound any good?
