Gossip Girl Update: Roommates, Captain America, J. Edgar Hoover and more!

Gossip Girl may be on a hiatus until its return to MuchMusic on Monday, January 24 at 9pm ET, but its stars are definitely not taking a break! Find out what Blair, Chuck, Little J and Carter Baizen have been up to and how their plans include some other MuchMusic stars!

Leighton Meester aka Blair Waldorf

Leighton Meester has definitely hit the ground running in 2011. Quickly shedding her mean-princess Blair Waldorf image as a goody-goody country singer in Country Strong, Leighton will be taking on a totally new role in February’s The Roommate. In what looks to be a take on Single White Female, Leighton becomes obsessed with her college roommate, played by Minka Kelly, and tries to make herself into her new friend. The film also stars Hellcats Aly Michalka and Twilgiht’s Cam Gigandet.

In addition to the announcement that Blake Lively has been named the face of Chanel, Leighton Meester has been slated to be the face of Missoni. Looks like B is going to be on the cover of a lot of magazines this year. Xoxo, MuchMusic

Ed Westwick aka Chuck Bass

Ed Westwick will be going from bad boy billionaire Chuck Bass to nice guy billionaire in Chalet Girl. Co-starring One Tree Hill’s Sohpia Bush, this snowy rom-com already gets the thumbs up from us for casting the hottest bad boy on the Upper East Side.

More big news for the man with the bowtie. Westwick has been added to the stellar line up of Leonardo DiCaprio and director Clint Eastwood for the J. Edgar Hoover biopic. Ed will be playing Agent Smith, an operative hired by Hoover (DiCaprio) to write his biography. Day-um, that’s a lot of good looking men in suits.

Taylor Momsen aka Jenny Humphrey (Little J)

In addition to the US tour dates for The Pretty Reckless, fronted by Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen, have added a Canadian show to their schedule. Slated to play the Tattoo Rock Parlour on Saturday, February 26, the band continue to make a name for themselves in the rock community as a force to be reckoned with.

Sebastian Stan aka Carter Baizen

He may spend all his time on screen trying to get Serena Van Der Woodsen, but we spend all that time staring at him! In addition to his small role in the most talked about film of 2010, Black Swan, Sebastian is set to play opposite Chris Evans in Captain America as Bucky. Additionally, Stan is set to co-star with Twilight’s Ashley Greene in the supernatural horror film, The Apparition. The film also stars Harry Potter’s Tom Felton’s and Skins Luke Pasqualino.
