The Grammys are neither a Gram, nor a my. Discuss.

Let’s see. Despite a couple crazy good highlights, the Grammys last night were another ho-hum year of awards given by grandpappies who still listen to Andy Williams on a daily basis and consider Rap Music “racket” and nominate Lil Wayne cause their 4-year-old granddaughter told them to. Ok fine, that’s not entirely true – I’m just a little grumbly about the whole thing, i.e. Robert Plant and Alison Krauss winning big awards for their folk album. Sure, maybe it’s good (I haven’t heard it) – but please explain to me what the Grammys are about. Sales? Quality? Popularity? All of the above? Pretty sure the audience that the Grammys are trying to pull were as confused as I was about those big wins. I’m rambling.

Let’s see, Lil’ Wayne took three of his eight nominations, including Rap Album of the Year. Adele won Best New Artist, Coldplay took Best Rock Album & Song of the Year. Those aren’t bad. Ne-Yo was one of the nomination front-runners and took away a couple, but not during the live broadcast. I’m so bored of talking about this already, let’s look at some pictures, shall we?

OH, and last words: best performances were Radiohead’s “15 Steps” and the Rap Pack’s “Swagga Like Us”, Y/Y?
