Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong hospitalized, cancels show in Italy

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong was rushed to the hospital this weekend due to an unknown illness. Because of that, the band had to cancel on a concert in Bologna, Italy on Sunday. Bassist Mike Dirnt and dummer Tré Cool released a video on their website to fans, apologizing for the cancellation.

“Billie got rushed to the hospital last night due to illness,” Dirnt says in the video, “And, you know, the doctors don’t think it’s a good idea for him to play today.”

Cool adds, “We’re beyond devastated. We’re as sad as you guys are and Billie’s extremely upset about it.”
