You may have heard of them by now: Foxboro Hot Tubs. They have a cool 60s vibe, but sound fresh and rockish. They also sound kind of familiar. That’s because fans and bloggers alike all hear the Green Day flair that is Billie Joe’s distinct vocals and Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool’s rhythms.
So why aren’t they fessing up that it’s them? Well everyone loves a bit of mystery. But there are so many clues! The main one being that the members of Green Day appeared in the Warner/Chappell Music music publishing database as the writers of at least two songs from the Foxboro Hot Tubs album, Stop Drop and Roll - but this information has since been pulled.
Regardless, the music from Foxboro Hot Tubs is good. Brand new album info was just posted on their main site, plus one of their tracks, The Pedestrian, is available there for download. You can also catch snippets of songs on their MySpace page - so stop, drop and listen.
PS: The cover art is pretty damn cool, too.
