50 shades of Lucy Hale.
The actress, most famous for role as Aria Montgomery on Pretty Little Liars revealed that she auditioned for the lead role in the 50 Shades of Grey adaption.
Lucy auditioned for the role of Anastasia Steele, the 21 year-old college who enters into a relationship with Christian Grey, and described it as “unlike any audition I have ever done before in my life.”
“It was a two-page monologue of exactly what you would think it would be. [It was] very uncomfortable, but it was sort of one of those things where you just had to go for it or you’re just gonna look lame—hopefully, I didn’t look lame.”
50 Shades of Grey is the book that made headlines for it’s sexually graphic content and portrayal of an S&M relationship.
“I think any girl in my demographic would have loved to be a part of it. Mainly, I was just interested in doing something risky and doing something a little different than my character on PLL so it took me out of my comfort zone,” Lucy told MTV.
Apparently having an affair with her teacher on PLL isn’t risky enough for Lucy. But it all worked out in the end. The role of Anastasia Steele went to Dakota Johnson who will star in the film opposite Jamie Dornan. Lucy is keeping busy these days with her country album Road Between and trying to catch A on Pretty Little Liars. You can catch Lucy looking pretty and telling lies on Pretty Little Liars Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on M3.Tweet
