Halo 3: ODST is the latest title in the Halo franchise and is an expansion to Halo 3. Originally it was supposed to be a downloadable title but then it was decided to make it a standalone game.
I was lucky enough to attend a preview event for Halo 3: ODST, which drops in stores today, and I must say it’s an impressive game. First person shooters have always been second on my list as I prefer third person shooters but after getting a chance to play ODST I might be more inclined on playing more first person type games.
The multiplayer action in Halo 3: ODST is pretty amazing. The multiplayer option of ODST is so important that they decided it should be on its own disc. Yup a disc dedicated to just multiplayer action. There are a total of 24 maps, including three new maps.
ODST also features a new co-op mode called Firefight, which is similar to the Horde mode in Gears Of War 2 where you are faced with an insane amount of enemies and the longer you play the more enemies you face.
I had the chance to play the Firefight mode and it was insane! The amount of enemies you face off the bat is crazy and it wasn’t long before I was dead as I’m new to all this Halo action. Prior to this event, I have never really enjoyed the multiplayer modes in shooter games but after playing in the Firefight mode that might have changed.
Overall Halo 3: ODST is a pretty good game and is a lot of fun, whether its playing a multiplayer campaign or a solo campaign. This is a must have for anyone who has been a Halo fan and is also a must have for non-halo fans. Either way it should be in your game library.
