Hello kitty cats,
So I passed by a TV this morning and one of my favourite songs EVER was playing – “Tracks of my Tears” – but it was a trio of voices that sounded nothing like Smokey Robinson. I froze in my tracks and ran over to the screen to find none other than the KINGS of grade 9 makeout music crooning away. That’s right. Boyz II Men. I am not usually a fan of covers of classic motown songs but I have to say they did it justice.
Boyz II Men have an album that has just come out called Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA. Look past the album title, because it is actually pretty good. They cover a ton of songs including “Just My Imagination”, “Mercy Mercy Me” and “Easy”. But what I love best, because no Boyz II Men collection would be complete without it, they play their original track “End Of The Road”. Cue the awkward slow dance with 2 feet of distance between you and your crush.
Hope all is good,
hx
