Happy St. Patrick’s Day To You All

March 17th, 2004

Today not only marks the 27th anniversary of the birth of the man who broke my heart a mere three weeks ago by dating, of all things, a redhead but it is also a day to be celebrated with beer and rowdy shenanigans – just look at these happy revellers!

Today, people without a drop of Irish blood in their bodies will proclaim themselves “Irish For A Day” and descend en masse into local watering holes. Being of Scottish descent myself I have a hard time wrapping my head around what all the fuss is about. After all, my ancestors didn’t need an occasion? to hit the pub and get rowdy – no siree – for us every day was a good enough day to wake up with a hangover!

Seriously though, if you are of legal drinking age and decide to partake in today’s festivities, please be responsible and refrain from acting like an animal in public.

Having said all that, I raise my glasses (and yes, they are Chanel – thank you for noticing!) and wish you all a Happy St. Paddy’s Day.

And remember, I’d rather have a beer in front of me than a frontal lobotomy!
