That’s right everyone’s favorite wizards, sorry Selena Gomez, Harry, Ron, and Hermione reunited to film footage for a new amusement park ride. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), Rupert Grint (Ron), and Emma Watson (Hermione) reunited to film footage for the new ride for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
The ride, Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts, recreates the famous scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1 where the magical trio try to break in, and escape from the enchanted bank. Warwick Davis (Griphook) and Helena Bonham-Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) are both reprising their roles for the ride.
“It’s all new, it’s a brand new film, and it’s absolutely film quality, involving the films team, a merging of the film team and the Universal production team,” Alan Gilmore, the art director for the ride said.
It seems like Universal Studios is going to a lot of work just for a ride, which will include a dragon and goblins in the foyer.
“My motto is, we’re building a real place, we’re not building a theme place, I want to walk in, and feel like they’re actually in London, or actually in Gringotts,” Gilmore said.
The new addition to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is set to open this summer.
And in other Harry Potter related news, the spin-off to the popular series finally has a release date. Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them will hit theaters on November 18, 2016. The movie, which is being written by J.K. Rowling herself, will be set in New York and follow Newt Scamander, the author of one of Harry Potter’s textbooks.
Considering the movie will take place 70 years before the first Harry Potter movie, it’s highly unlikely the original cast will make an appearance.Tweet
