Is CopyKaty striking again?
Katy Perry is being sued for copyright infringement over her song Dark Horse. Christian rapper Flame is claiming the Katy ripped of his 2008 song Joyful Noise. The lawsuit, which was filed on Tuesday, claims that Katy not only copied the song, but also exploited and profited from it.
Flame is also slamming Katy and the producers of Dark Horse for tarnishing Joyful Noise‘s Christian message. “And by any measure, the devoutly religious message of ‘Joyful Noise’ has been irreparably tarnished by its association with the witchcraft, paganism, black magic, and Illuminati imagery evoked by the same music in ‘Dark Horse,’” the lawsuit reads.
You can listen to both Joyful Noise and Dark Horse below.
Truthfully the songs don’t sound that similar. However, this isn’t the first time Katy has been accused of copying other artists. Remember the whole Roar and Brave comparison.Tweet
