Heart of Stone and more songs inspired by the Orphan Black finale

June 26th, 2014

OB Season 2 Finale

It’s been a few days since the Season 2 finale of Orphan Black and frankly, I’m still processing. Male clones. Dying Cosima. Kidnapped Helena. One-eyed Rachael. Tiny clones. Frankly, I’m not sure how I’m going to wait for Season 3 without spontaneously combusting, but alas, that is the price you pay for loving an incredible show.

Before we look towards a long, Orphan Black-less summer, let’s keep our focus on the incredible finale. Check out what music inspired us this week in our playlist for Episode 210 – By Means Which Have Never Yet Been Tried.

White Blank Page, Taylor Swift (Mumford and Sons Cover)

Rachel has spent the second half of her life being emotionless, reserved and ruthless, but that all comes crashing down in a swelling rage when her father Duncan takes his own life right in front of her.

How You Like Me Now, The Heavy

Scott started out as the clueless scientist in Cosima’s lab, was upgraded to the clueless assistant in the Dyad lab, became the guy who figured everything out, then the guy who took Rachael out. Say hi to Donnie on your way into the Badass Club, Scott.

Shake It Out, Florence and the Machine

For the first time ever, the four clones are together to meet, exchange awkward niceties, and dance out the devil on their backs in Felix’s apartment.

Heart of Stone, IKO

One of the final scenes in this season of Orphan Black was Kira trying to wake an unresponsive Auntie Cosima. I think it’s safe to say that all viewers held their breath waiting for Cosima to wake up and take a breath. She can breathe for now, but will she have enough time to save herself with Duncan’s book?

Tainted Love, Claire Guerreso (Soft Cell Cover)

Gracie and Mark managed to escape a life with the Proletheans, but not before Gracie’s father implanted his sperm and Helena’s eggs into his daughter. Oh, and Mark is a clone. They say the first year of marriage is the hardest. Good luck, kids!

OMG, Usher

Let me get this straight. There is another little Sarah/Rachel/Cosima/Alison/Helena clone. There are male clones. One is so scary he’s been locked up. One is Mark. And one is guarding Helena, who had been kidnapped. OHMAHGAWD!
