By now you’ve all heard the tragic news of Heath Ledger‘s passing. Yet another young, talented actor gone in the prime of his life. Just last week it was Brad Renfro. Let’s hope terrible things don’t happen in 3′s…

There’s a lot of speculation right now that Heath’s death was drug related. If that turns out to be true, I can’t help but wonder – WHAT’S THE POINT? What IS the allure?

I just don’t get it. I asked myself these same questions when River Phoenix died. Some of you may not remember him, but he was often touted as the most promising young actor of his generation. Incredibly talented, gorgeous and Oscar-nominated – and he died of a drug overdose on Halloween night, 1993. He was only 23 years old.

The fact that a little baby is never really going to know her father is beyond sad and pointless. I just hope the damn paparazzi can have some compassion and not start stalking Heath’s ex Michelle Williams and their baby daughter. I know that’s asking for a lot, especially since pics of Heath in a bodybag are all over the net. And ET is streaming live footage from outside his NYC apartment. How incredibly morbid.

If this doesn’t serve as a SERIOUS wake-up call for Lindsay, Amy, and Britney, nothing will. Like I said, I hope terrible things won’t happen in 3′s…
