Hedley release shocking new single Kiss You Inside Out

May 17th, 2012

Hedley have continued the trend they began with 2011′s Storms of experimenting with new sounds, this time with the band’s new track Kiss You Inside Out. Enlisting the help of synthesizers to bring out the heavily pop-based track, Hedley are changing up not only their sound, but their song lyrics as well. With the help of Lauren Christy from the writing team Matrix to pen the surprisingly sexualized song, Hedley are making bold moves for a band who have written the majority of their work.

If it wasn’t for lead singer Jacob Hoggard’s distinctive voice I may have never guessed that Kiss You Inside Out was a Hedley track. Released today on PopCrush, a US site, Hedley seem to be making a conscious effort to gain some headway on the US charts, preparing to release Storms in the US soon, possibly with the new single Kiss You Inside Out on the disc.

The single is quite a departure from what we’re used to hearing from Hedley, but the things (Hoggard’s voice, catchy chorus, guitar-driven pop tracks) that have made the band great for five albums are present in their new sound. It’s thankfully still the same Hedley, just a little south of the border sounding.
