Hellcats Ep. 3: Dancin’ to the jailhouse rock

There was a storm of punches and drinks flying around on the last episode of Hellcats. Adultery, jail, kisses and as always, mad disses hit all the members of the squad. Find out what went down and watch the episode on demand right here! (Spoilers in recap!)

Winning the last meet has unfortunately proven to not be enough for the Hellcats. The money that was supposed to be used to get them to Nationals is being giving to the Volleyball team, since the two clubs ranked the same and cheerleading, unlike volleyball, is not considered a sport. Those football groupies (kidding) just can’t catch a break!

Vanessa has suggested that they put together a bid video and send it to the National committee and hope that the committee will foot their $10,000 bill. Alice, being the sweetheart that she is, points out that Marti can’t be in the video because Alice is better than her. Better at not being a raging beotch? Yes, yes she is.

Red seems to be continuing his quest to creep on Vanessa and ultimately break her and Derek up. Not cool, coach, not cool.

Alice tries to get back into practice, but the pain in his wrist is proving too much to bear.

She pays a visit to a football player named Jake, who seems to be crushing on Alice. She uses his warm fuzzies towards her to get a hook up for pain meds for her wrist. They agree to meet later that night to do the deal.

Marti’s perfect attendance is getting a big red mark on it now that cheerleading is making her late for class. She rolls into class late, just as her teacher is telling the other students about an exclusive assignment that will be a huge amount of work, but could also guarantee the students chosen a spot at Harvard law. Marti’s lateness gets some lip service from a dorky dude in the seat next to her who obviously is not intimidated by her killer abs. Marti’s teacher agrees to give her a shot at the assignment, but first she must complete another test and write a paper on a case of his choosing.

Savannah and Dan are going on their first date and Savannah has bought a hot new dress for the night. Marti mentions that she’s still surprised that Dan asked her out, since Savannah is so religious and Dan is such a player. Savannah freaks and asks Marti to call Dan and cancel for her.

Marti apologizes for calling Dan a player and to make it up to Savannah, agrees to join her, as well as bring half the squad on her date with Dan.

Savannah gets tankity-tank-tanked and the whole gang pours out onto the street and finds some street dancer friends of Marti’s auditioning to be in Step Up 4. Everyone joins in, including Savannah who perfects a drunken basket toss.

Off in the distance, Lewis and his Jason Bourne-like eagle eye sees Jake and Alice on a date and notices Jake slipping a bag of pills into Alice’s purse.

Lewis follows the couple into the bar and when he confronts them, the punches start flying like back handsprings at a Hellcats practice! Dan jumps in to help Lewis and Lewis, Dan and Jake all get arrested.

Marti and Savannah find Marti’s teacher at home and convince him to help get their friends out of jail. Red bails Jake out, who continues to make fun of Lewis. These two seem to have a history together that includes Louis formerly be part of the football team and leaving the team to become a cheerleader. I assume we’ll learn more about this soon.

Savannah, Marti and their teach bails the guys out of jail and Savannah and Dan share a celebratory kiss. Aw, drunken morning breath. Hawt, hawt, hawt.

Marti stops by her moms bar for breakie and to sulk about not having figured out her extra assignment. Marti’s mom points out that Marti isn’t the only person sulking over a law assignment and Marti looks over to see Morgan, the sasser, working on a project. The two of them start working together and realize that the assignment is fake and based on a Star Trek character.

They decide to make it into an actual case (how they do this is a few hours before class is beyond me) and end up impressing their teacher so much that they are chosen for the special assignment! Scoresies! How Marti is going to juggle this, her usual classes and cheerleading, I gots no idear.

Vanessa finally tells Derek the truth about her past with Red. The two dated while she was a student and he was a faculty member. Big no-no. Derek doesn’t understand why she would keep this a secret since it’s not that uncommon. Oh, and he was married. Bigger no-no. The marriage ended and Red was fired. Okay, now I see why she kept it a secret.

Alice has started poppin’ the pills, Marti is spreading herself even thinner and Dan and Savannah look like they may actually become a couple! Will Red keep bothering Vanessa? Will Alice get caught with the drugs? Will Marti be able to handle all her responsibilities? Find out on this weeks episode of Hellcats on Friday at 8pm ET!
