Amanda Bynes appears to be making great strides in her recovery after a chaotic 2013, which ended with the child star being placed on a psychiatric hold. The actress has now completed her time in rehab and this week began attending the Fashion Institute for Design and Merchandising in LA, or FIDM.
FIDM, FIDM, where have we heard that name? Oh, yes.
How could we forget? For three seasons we watched Lauren, Whitney and Heidi (until she dropped out) attend FIDM, while interning at Teen Vogue. The first two women went on to have successful clothing lines, so things are looking good for Bynes. But what will Amanda really be learning at fashion school?
Try to keep a poker face when given tasks like “steam and iron this doggie underwear for an upcoming pooch fashion shoot.”
You’re in fashion school now. Leave that minor niner drama in the past.
Learn how to stand up for yourself and take responsibility for your decisions, even if your decisions are nine plastic surgeries before the age of 25 (also, don’t do that).
Criticism comes with the fashion territory and yes, it’s sucky.
Pick your best feature when modelling your designs and show it off.
Always be ready with your Blue Steel in case you’re needed for a runway show.
Being a fashion designer means being able to multitask. For example, curling your hair while simultaneously throwing shade.
Some trends aren’t for everyone.
Make friends who will share in your fashion victories.
Not all fashion school friendships are meant to last as long as a pair of timeless black pumps.
Fashion is the only thing you will love that won’t let you down.
And on that note, for the love of all things Dior, always, always, always, ALWAYS choose Paris over a crappy boyfriend.
Good luck Amanda!
