It’s actually dangerous

Adele and Drake have both sorta-kinda announced this week that new albums will be coming soon. Drake posted this image on his Instagram page yesterday with the caption ‘The next chapter #VFT6′, leading many to speculate that Drake was sharing the title to his fourth studio album.
Adele gave fans hope earlier this year with this Instagram pic, which included the caption “Bye bye 25… See you again later in the year x”.
Adele’s first two albums, 19 and 21, were both named after the singer’s age at the time she wrote the records, leading to speculation that Adele’s message was a clue towards the timing of her next album drop.
The Twitter handle for the World Music Awards tweeted “”#adele confirms 2015 Tour After The Release Of Her New Album ’25’!” today, leading to further speculation that the release of Adele’s new disc is not far off. The Daily Star has even reported that Adele’s 25 is complete and may be released without warning, something we’ve most recently seen done by Beyoncé…and Weird Al.
Drake and Adele may seem like two very different artists at first glance, but we think there are actually quite a few similarities between the Toronto MC and the UK singer. Here’s what we’re hoping to hear on both albums.
Songs We Can Cry To
Obviously, this statement is leaning a bit more towards Adele, but it’s not like we haven’t had our hearts ripped open by Drizzy. What, you didn’t connect with drunk-dialing the love of your life a la Marvins Room? Just us?
Songs We Can Dance To
Picture this. It’s Friday night. You have no plans. The work week from hell is over. You can sleep in until noon tomorrow. Grab a hairbrush mic and turn up the next Fancy/Rumour Has It .
Let’s not get too crazy with the album covers. Both artists have mugs that are begging for us to buy the LP version of their albums and hang them in a record frame on the wall.
Since releasing their last albums, Adele has become a mom and Drizzy has become a dad…to the Toronto Raptors Franchise. These two keep their music autobiographical and it’s a big reason why fans connect to them. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a line about Drakes thoughts on young Justin Bieber, or even Adele’s thoughts for that matter.
Albums mean promotion which means performances at awards shows. Awaiting the slayness from these two.Tweet
