Hilary Duff becomes an author

Hilary Duff is set to launch a new series of young adult novels.

Simon & Schuster will publish the Lizzie McGuire star’s books, beginning with the first novel, Elixir, this October.

Hilary is also planning to write a nonfiction book about children coping with divorce for release some time in 2012. The actress/singer previously wrote two songs – “Stranger” and “Gypsy Woman” – about her own experience coping with her parents divorce.
