The top 40 earners in Hollywood have been named by Vanity Fair and you’ll be surprised who made the list, who’s the highest ranking female, and just how much being money is being thrown at one single person at a time! (warning – you may have to change career goals after reading the list).

Canadian hotshot James Cameron tops the list with a total of $257M under his belt in 2010 (that’s not including the amount of money Avatar pulled in December 2009 when it premiered!). WOW! And he’s way head of the next entry. At number 2Johnny Depp clocks in with $100M in 2010. Rounding out the top three is Steven Spielberg with $80M.

The highest ranking woman on the list is Kristen Stewart coming in at number 13 with $28.5M collected last year. Yup – she beat out the likes of Jennifer Aniston (#18), Angelina Jolie (#21) and Sandra Bullock (#22).

Her Twilight co-stars also made the top 15 with Taylor Lautner at number 9 with $33.5M and Robert Pattinson at number 15 with $27.5M.

The only other young actor to make the list was Shia Labeouf at number 34 with $16M.
