Hooray For The Awkwardly Endearing!

I really can’t contain my excitement for Wes Anderson’s latest ‘The Darjeeling Limited.’ Whoever thought to cast Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman and Owen Wilson as three brothers is a genius! Seriously, just watching the trailer gets me all giddy. What’s interesting about this flick is that Roman Coppola, the lesser known Coppola (brother to Sofia and son to Francis), not only produced this film but is a writer on it along with Wes Anderson and umm Jason Schwartzman (this is also bizarre)…
Throughout most of Roman’s career he worked as music video director. Unlike his friends, Spike Jonze, Mike Mills and his sister Sofia, Roman never quite reached the kind of success that his friends had. He always seemed to be standing in the shadows of everyone else’s fame and success. BUT the fact that Roman has decided to step aside from directing to try his hand at writing and producing a film that has the potential to garner critical praise, is well exciting. I’m glad that Roman’s talent will finally get recognized.
