Bono, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera have been announced as performers for George Clooney’s MTV telethon Hope For Haiti, which is set to air on Much this Friday, January 22nd.
According to Clooney himself at Sunday night’s Golden Globes, over 40 celebrities are expected to participate in the telethon, many of them recruited at the awards ceremony. The actor also said that the performers’ songs will be made available on iTunes.
Also announced, Wyclef Jean and CNN’s Anderson Cooper will join Clooney as Hope For Haiti’s co-hosts. The commercial-free telethon will be broadcast live from Los Angeles, New York and Haiti, with all funds raised going to the Red Cross, Unicef, Oxfam America, Partners in Health and Wyclef’s Yele Haiti Foundation.
Once again, Hope For Haiti will air live on Much this Friday the 22nd from 8-10pm ET. And be sure to stay tuned for our MuchTalks Haiti special, airing later on this week.
