Hot Hot Heat’s run-in with the NYPD

Hot Hot Heat are in hot water! Sorry, couldn’t resist. The band had a little run-in with the NYPD recently and frontman Steve Bays skyped in with us to tell us the whole story.

According to Bay, the members of the band were biking around in New York City when all of a sudden they came to a crime scene complete with police tape and “CSI guys”. Bays said it looked kind of like the scene of a murder so they decided to hightail it outta there and turned their bikes around.

Unfortunately they happened to be on a one-way street, so they had to bike on the sidewalk. Also unfortunately a police van showed up right at that moment, saw them biking on the sidewalk and gave them a ticket and a court summons! WTF?!

I guess it’s seriously illegal to bike the wrong way on a sidewalk in New York cause the band has to show up in court in July! And even worse, Bays told us the band might not even show up! Yeesh. This could be trouble.
