How about some weekend highlights?

I saw Glitter on Friday night. It was riveting, I kid you not. It was late and we were tired, so my friend and I decided we’d watch the first 10 min or so, for laughs, and then call it a night.We couldn’t turn it off - it was so ridiculously entertaining that we watched the whole thing. Here’s a case were soooooo many wrongs can make a right — sorta. My favourite parts are as follows: the glitter/slow-mo transitions; the awful styling; the cliched “crazy” best friends who are always either dancing or fighting; and of course, the worst acting ever. Mariah’s acting was bad. But what excuse do the other actors have? At least Mariah’s main gig is singing. Do these people really make a living acting?

In feline news, a new kitty cat is in our midst. My pal Andree recently brought home a wee black kitten. His name is Magic and he does something I have never seen a cat do. He sits up on his hind legs (like a bunny) and rubs his paws together. Apparently this means that we wants something. (Which in my case, I guess meant he wanted the ice cream i was eating.) How freaky and cute is that? If I can get a photo of this, I’ll post it here. It’s so adorable I want to smooosh him.

Last night I went to see Brendan Benson at the Horseshoe. About a month or so ago, his CD landed on my desk. I hadn’t heard anything about him at the time, so it was a lovely surprise to listen and discover some new songs to like. If you haven’t heard Lapalco yet, it’s worth checking out. Metarie is one of the sweetest sad songs I’ve fallen for in a long time.

How was your weekend Justin? Did you enjoy the opening of the concrete “square”? *Eye rolling* And hey, are you practicing up a storm for Thursday’s MOD battle? I can’t wait to see the Team D drummers face off!
