Times are tough in the job market and sometimes it takes a little ingenuity to make yourself stand out in the crowd, like Alec Brownstein. Alec started his Google Job Experiment and bought a handful of Google Adwords with the names of five of the top creative directors at the ad agencies he was looking to work for in New York. That meant that whenever the ad execs googled themselves, the first thing they saw was a message linking them to Alec’s website with the message, “Hey [creative director’s name]: Googling yourself is a lot of fun. Hiring me is fun, too.”
