I completely embrace the power of a big rock show whenever possible…

Just got back from one of the best vacations I’ve ever taken! I headed south west to sunny California with some friends and had a rad time! Spent the weekend at Coachella, the best music festival I have ever been to (and might ever go to…oh no, is it all downhill from here?) It was a non-stop killer lineup of some of the best bands on the planet. You know how some music festivals there are a few bands you like, and then a few that kinda suck so you go and sit on the lawn with your friends and make fun of people with bad sunburns?

Not here. It was all killer, no filler. Some of my fave performances included sets by: QOTSA, Beastie Boys, N.E.R.D. (who were joined onstage by rockstar Kelly Osbourne), The White Stripes, Iggy Pop and the Stooges (with Mike Watt on bass!) The Mars Volta, Fischerspooner, TSOOL, The Hives and so many more. I was awake for 45 hours straight and loved every minute of it.

My buddies and I rocked back to LA for a few days after, crammed far too many people in a hotel room meant for 2, went to see an exhibit by one of my fave artists Mark Ryden (I was so overwhelmed to finally see his stuff in real life) and ate at Baja Fresh…a lot. On my final night a dream of mine came true. I finally saw my favourite band The Distillers play a live show. I will write more about it later tho…it’s still sinking in.

Rock and Roll is my boyfriend, and we spent some serious QT together on vacation.

Hey April, I know you’re a big fan of Brody & the boys and of the blog…hit me with something good!
