I Got JUSTIFIED

Step aside, Zac Efron, you’re just the flavour of the month next to this generation’s King of Pop, Justin Timberlake. Now, if you thought that picture was steamy then perhaps you should consider seeing Mr. Justin Timberlake in concert.

Mmmhmm, this cat managed to score some pretty sweet tickets to JT’s highly anticipated show Monday night but they def. came at a hefty price – 140 smackers…I have to admit that I’ve never spent that much money on a concert ticket. So, going into the show, I came in with some pretty lofty expectations. Mr. Timberlake, you better believe you’re going to put on a damn good show after I spent that much cha-ching on you. And did he?

Well, it’s safe to say that I (along with 15,000 other girls) was more than satisfied with his performance. A lady never kisses and tells but I ain’t going to deprive y’all of the juicy details especially when you’ve got someone like Justin working the stage.

First off, whoever came up with the idea of a circular stage is a genius! Stadium shows generally suck but when you throw a round stage right in the middle, everyone wins – there wasn’t a bad seat in the house…Secondly, can someone please tell me why girls feel the need to dress to the nines when they’re going to a concert? I’d say that about 60 percent of the 90 percent of girls that attended the show were wearing a minimum of 2 inch heels. RIDICULOUS.

Moving on…So to kick things off, JT emerged from the center stage looking very dapper in his vest/suit pant/fedora get-up…His band along with his dancers and backup singers were also dressed in this attire (I’m sure they were all courtesy of his label William Raston). Then he broke out into FutureSex/LoveSounds… It was like the heavens descended into the ACC that night because damn, JT lit that stage up. He had every single person standing up and dancing within a matter of moments…

The first half of the set included everything from Like I Love You to Senorita to Sexy Ladies to My Love. Right before TIMBALAND joined him for Chop Me Up, Justin performed What Goes Around…Comes Around and let’s just say I fell in love with the song all over again. Everything from the lighting to the images being projected on the circular screens were so well-done that it made me think that THIS should’ve been the video (it certainly looked like a live version of one). In fact, I’d have to say that the production value of the entire show was solid. Kudos to the team behind it!

Oh yeah, so after Timbo popped onstage the show went into intermission in which the beat master ‘DJed’. It wasn’t so much djing as it was a pre-packaged video show of some of Timbaland’s hits… Fun, yes, worth Timbo’s appearance? Not so much…

So for the second half of the show, JT slowed it down for the ladies and did a ballad medley. Yes, he had me swooning in all of five seconds. It really doesn’t take all that much. Predictably so, he ended the night with SexyBack and then came out for an encore. Once again, he had me completely enamoured when he performed (Another Song) All Over Again. Sigh.

All in all, I was quite impressed at how talented of a performer JT really is. From his smooth dance skills to his multi-instrumental performance, he was well worth my $140!
