I HEART TOM!

Okay, I know that every time I blog I’m talking about some great opportunity here at Much, but I can’t help it. I REALLY LOVE MY JOB!!! So ya, you’re about to get a play-by-play.

So, yesterday Tom Cruise stopped by and I got to be his point person. FUN! Now normally when a person of his size celebrity comes in you don’t directly speak to them, you speak through a series of people. Whatevs!

In yesterday’s case, T.C. arrived being ushered down the hall by his people and security. Totally expected, no big deal right? Only at this point I, Sandra B, MuchMusic producer am now face to face with Tom Cruise!!!

Sidebar: He’s not as short as everyone makes him out to be. I’m 5’11 so I know short. He’s totally average height. And yes ladies he’s just as smokin in real life!

And we’re back – it’s me and T.C.. his people totally fall back and Tom does all the talking. SHOCKER! He introduces himself to me and asks to go through the show – STILL IN SHOCK! He does a quick interview with MuchNews and then it’s off to MOD with about a minute to spare.

Tom gets a final check over by his hair/make-up person, and he admits to ME that he’s totally embarrassed that I just witnessed his hair being fixed. SHOCK AND SURPRISE – he’s still talking to me! He makes a joke and we laugh. I still canâ€™t believe I’m standing here with Tom freaking Cruise and that’s when he says, “So do you have time off for the holidays?” ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW!?? BIZZARE! We then have a brief conversation about holiday plans! CRAZY!!!! Anyways I’m not sharing the rest of the details because you’re probably plotting my death or have stopped reading and I’m feeling selfish now so that’s all for you.

I really wasn’t expecting to like Mr. Cruise, and I wasn’t expecting to have as much interaction with him as I did. But it was fun! He is a lovely, lovely man, totally charming and sincere. I have to say what I loved most is that he went out of his way to make every person in the room feel important and he really didn’t have to, he could have just sat there and made fake conversation with his people or Matte. Tom Cruise, he’s a total class act and I’m totally in crush mode! Tom thanks for breaking the mould!
