I miss ‘em.

January 5th, 2006

odb1.jpg Straight up, I’m sitting here working away, listening to a classic album from (I think) 1994 called Wu-Tang Forever. It was the first double rap CD that I ever bought. It phenomenal. They just don’t make hip-hop like this anymore. They really don’t. People try, but it no good. Not even Wu-Tang Clan can make music like they did back then. Though they try to, they’re still pretty good. But in late November 2004, an original ninth of the Wu-Tang Clan (the only member from Brooklyn Zoo rather than Staten Island) passed away from heart failure due to abuse on his body. His name was Ol’ Dirty Bastard. He was also known as, Big Baby Jesus, Osirus, Dirt McGirt and Dirty Doggy, as well as some other names. He truly was a character that I personally miss a great deal. Occasionally, I’ll go to a hip-hop show and they’ll pay tribute to the late great. It makes me happy. The Atmosphere show had a great tribute to him. A good mix that I’d love to get my hands on. Before O.D.B died he was in the process of making a reality series called “Stuck on Dirty“. The show was cut short and it’s, so far, never been released. I want to see it. But maybe I never will. Anyone have any leads on its whereabouts or status?
