iLove: NEW APPLE CRAP!

And by crap I mean holy awesome new stuff from everygeek’s fave consumer electronics company, Apple. The be-turtlenecked Steve Jobs announced, mere minutes ago, a bunch of new stuff.

To wit: a new iPod Nano with a bigger screen and Cover Flow; a new 160GB (!!) standard iPod…and then holy hell it’s the…iPod Touch with the same form factor as the iPhone but thinner and lighter AND with WiFi. Looks really sweet, but I think I’ll still wait for my iPhone.

Then, there’s the brand new iTunes WiFi music store for use with your iPod Touch and iPhone. All the country-localized iTunes stores will have WiFi so you can get your wireless music no matter where you are. Very cool - wireless downloads just might save music as we know it.

And then…what’s this about Starbucks? Apparently they have a deal now with Apple so that if you have your WiFi iPod or iPhone on near a Starbucks you can buy the track playing on the in-store muzak on the spot. Kinda fun. Kinda lame.

AND FINALLY…the 4GB iPhone is being discontinued and the 8GB is being dropped in price a bunch. Here’s hoping those come to Canada lickety-split. ROGERS ARE YOU LISTENING?
