In Flames - A Sense of Purpose

After hearing a lot of buzz around In Flames‘ latest album A Sense Of Purpose I wanted to see what the craze was about. I listened to it all of last night and on my way to work this morning and couldn’t help but think, no wonder everyone is talking about it. It’s a pretty good album!

I’m not a hardcore metal/screaming/death metal fan but I like listening to it every now and then, although I haven’t come across anything that has satisfied the death metal in me until I heard this album. It combines the hardcore drumming with the screaming lyrics with the metal guitar riffs.

A Sense Of Purpose was released on April 1 and debuted at #28 on Billboard’s Top 200, which was so far been highest achievement of the band’s career. The first single, The Mirror’s Truth is a great track to use as a single and a better track to start the album off. My favourite track off the album would have to be Alias. It’s got the perfect mix of everything from the screaming to the drumming to guitar solo that sounds like it belongs in the 90s.

Listen to the album and let me know what you think!
