In Their Own Words: Abandon All Ships

June 29th, 2010

Abandon All Ships Wednesday on DisBand!

Hey Everybody,

Much has been breaking my balls about writing an update blog for awhile and seeing as I have a free hand, I’d love to put all this wonder to rest..

Plus, check out Abandon All Ships on DisBand: Wednesday, June 30 @ 8PM ET on MUCH. Plus, get caught up on all the latest AAS news right HERE

What has been going on with AAS since we filmed out last episode ?

Well since the big disband show, which we had a “blast” doing we have been touring, writing recording and filming.

Around a month after the disBand shoot we went on tour with our good buddies protest the hero on their ‘Farting Our Fortress’ Tour in Ontario.

Directly after that we started writing our full length record.

We were feeling a little road sick so we decided to do a follow up to our last tour. We called it the ‘March Brake..Your Nose Tour’ and the turnouts were great.

After that tour we had about 2 days to pack up, wash some clothes and service our bus. We left on our second tour with Protest to Western Canada on the Snocore Tour. We had a great time with our new life long bros. We love you guys.

After the 60 hour drive home from Victoria we set back into the studio to finish up all the pre production for our new record.

Through our last month of writing we played some great shows over the border with some great band like Silverstein, Miss May I, and The Devil Wears Prada.

After all the shows were said and done we set into the studio with engineer Anthony Cali @ City Tape Records. To start recording out full length record. We had such a great in house team that Andrew (our guitar player) took the role of mixing all the drums bass and guitar. And our manager Mark Spicoluk came into to produce with Anth.

The record is sounding beautiful and we couldn’t be happier with our direction.

About 3 weeks into recording we had to take a mouth off to go on our first full united states tour with our good buddies a skylit drive. So we packed up for the “Go Fist Pump Your Self” tour and set out on our 50 hour drive to California.

The tour was mint, we made great buddies, sold all of our merch and finally got to play for all our fans in the States. Beautiful.

Right now, were just finishing up the recording process and are about to release our first single, and music video.

It premiers right after our discovered episode on Wednesday June 30th on MuchMusic, so everybuddy check it out, go to iTunes and buy It !

And somewhere in between this all we signed with 3 labels (Underground Operations, Velocity/Rise
Records), 2 booking agents (Colin Lewis and Dave Shapiro @ The Agency Group) and a wonderful management deal with UO Management (Mark Spicoluk)

With 2 more weeks off and then a full year of touring booked, I’ll leave this off with one thing… Fist Pump
