Is Alaric teaming up with an Original on tonight’s Vampire Diaries?

At the end of last week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries (watch it again here), Alaric learned that Rebecca was really the original of the originals, Esther. With his fragile state of mind, he would be the perfect accomplice for Esther’s plan to be rid of her children once and for all. In this clip of tonight’s brand new episode of The Vampire Diaries, airing at 8 pm ET on MuchMusic, could Alaric be lying to Damon about his real whereabouts? Obviously this can only be done over the phone. No one can lie in person to those eyes.
