It takes a lot to be a performer. You have to have the drive, you have to have the talent, and you most certainly have to have the ability to deal with things not going perfectly. Things never go perfectly.
Sometimes you Ashlee Simpson-jig your way off stage.
Sometimes you let people talk you into having a comeback when you’re not ready.
Sometimes you forget the words to a song, even one as famous as the Star Spangled Banner (lord help you).
Sometimes your hair gets caught in a fan.
These things happen and one artist that knows that is MTV VMA performer Iggy Azalea. The Aussie rapper has already endured her share of not-so-perfect moments on stage, but what makes Iggy a superstar is her ability to bounce back.
Azalea performed on Dancing With The Stars earlier this year and had an audio issue early on in performance. Azalea took a moment and then got back into the track like a bawse.
Now Iggy has proven herself to be a pro again, this time while performing at last night’s MTV VMA pre-party in Hollwyood. Azalea misjudged the length of the stage and took a hard fall. Thankfully, the story doesn’t end there. Iggy jumped back on stage and went right back to performing. I would have been in the bathroom crying. All hail Queen Iggy.
Watch Iggy perform tomorrow night at 9E/6P at the 2014 MTV VMAs, featuring performances from Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Sam Smith, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, Usher, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Rita Ora.
