Dinosaur Jr.’s frontman J Mascis released his incredible debut solo studio record, Several Shades of Why, this past March on Sub Pop. He’s following the LP with a 7″ that includes a cover of Edie Brickell’s “Circle” and “I’ve Been Thinking.” The latter song has a similar sound to what we’ve heard on Several Shades of Why: digestible acoustic guitar melodies paired with J Mascis’ definitive raspy vocals. Circle will be released on November 22 and you can check out the album artwork above, which I think is saying that if J Mascis were an animal, he would be a stingray.
