Former White Stripes front man Jack White released the first material for his debut solo album Blunderbuss. The album’s lead song Love Interruption was released online Sunday. Blunderbuss has a scheduled release date of April 23, and will be through White’s Third Man label, launching his solo career.
White says that the decision to branch out into a solo career was actually by mistake. “A few months ago, we had a session booked and someone didn’t show up,” White said. “So I said, ‘I guess we’ll do some of my songs’ … It kick started the whole process.”
The release follows the split of The White Stripes a year ago. But since then, Jack has kept busy by contributing to Dead Weather and the Raconteurs.
