When Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer fill up the big screen for their remake of The Lone Ranger the soundtrack playing behind them will be penned by none other than Jack White. While this is White’s first time composing a film score, the singer is no stranger to Hollywood, having appeared in Cold Mountain, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and having recorded Another Way to Die with Alicia Keys for the soundtrack to the Bond film Quantum of Solace.
White will be following in the successful footsteps of popular singers-turned-composers, such as Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder for Into The Wild and Nine Inch Nail’s Trent Reznor for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and the Oscar-winning soundtrack for The Social Network.
The Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Lone Ranger is due in theatres on May 31st, 2013.
