Kings of Leon will be returning after a three year break this September with a new album, confirmed bassist Jared Followill in a new interview with NME.
“I thought we were going to make a really mature album, but I’m amazed how youthful it sounds,” Followill told NME.
Comparing it to the band’s earlier albums, Youth and Young Manhood and Because of the Times, Followill said the yet to be titled album will be a return to their original sound.
Kings of Leon may have finished recording their sixth album, but they’re still planning to keep busy until September. The band will be headlining this year’s V Festival with Beyoncé on August 17 and 18 in the U.K. Afterwards, they will continue to tour in London, Manchester and Birmingham until July 10.
