Jay-Z targeted by Miami PD as “gangbanger”

Notice a similarity between the illustration on the left and the photo of Jay-Z on the right? Well, what you don’t see with the illustration is that it is actually a banner advertisement that ran on the website for the Miami Police Department. No, it was to promote diversity in the work place, it was to warn the public about gangbanging. Yeah, for reals.
Despite gracing the cover of this month’s issue of Forbes and being the biggest name in hip-hop, Hova was depicted as a gang member not just once, but twice on the banner next to a bold warning to “Report Gang Activity.” The male on the far left of the illustration? That’s also Jay-Z, modelling a RocaWear headband.
Understanding how foolish, racist and tasteless they looked after it was pointed out to them, the Miami PD took down the gangbanger mural part of the banner, but failed to issue a statement or an apology. We figure that will come when Mr. Carter comes a knockin’, possibly even with his lawyer by his side.
Mindblowing.
