Jeff Goldblum was on The Colbert Report last night, confirming that he is in fact alive. You can watch the hilarious clip here, where he and Colbert poke fun at how quickly the false news spread via Twitter. And all in all it is kinda ridiculous.
On that sad Thursday when we said goodbye to Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson, strange rumors began to circulate of actor Jeff Goldbum having died as well. Known for his eccentricity and his roles in Jurassic Park and The Fly, he was said to have died falling off of a cliff while filming in New Zealand. Needless to say this was all untrue. Goldblum was (and still is) alive and kicking. But many, not knowing any better, took the news to heart and tweeted out their condolences.
You guys, we have to stop believing everything we hear! Take it with a grain of salt! Have we learned nothing from those after school specials where a mean rumor is started and it gets blown way out of proportion? No?
Everyone wants to be the first to tell, the first to break the news, but you have to do your research beforehand! Don’t say that someone is dead unless it is confirmed that they are dead! Yah dig? I wouldn’t go telling everyone that YOU were actually a garbage eating werewolf, unless I knew for sure*!
Trust me, I’m all about spreading the word; I’m blogging right now aren’t I? We just all have to be a bit more careful. In this era everything is speeding past us so fast is it easy to miss some facts, so keep you eyes open and look carefully!
* I promise I won’t tell about your werewolf thing, it will be our little secret!
