Jennifer Garner shines on the TIFF red carpet

September 15th, 2009

More red carpets were rolled out last night in Toronto for the International Film Festival.

Jennifer Garner hit the premiere of the comedy The Invention of Lying with her co-stars Ricky Gervais and Rob Lowe.

In a green strapless gown, Garner admitted that lying is just a part of life. “You have to. For the love of Pete you have to. It’s absolutely part of every day I mean “how are you? I’m fine.” That’s a lie so much of the time.”

Garner added, “So is it worth it being brutally honest? Is it worth the pain? No, no empathy is much better. Kindness wins!”

Meanwhile, Twilight star Anna Kendrick is in Toronto to promote her new flick Up in the Air with George Clooney. Kendrick says Clooney is exactly as he portrays himself…

“The thing I keep telling my friends is that he’s great. He’s everything you would want Clooney to be. He’s Cary Grant. He’s charming and generous. It’s annoying I wish there was one bad thing I could say about that guy.”

Anna has been shooting the Twilight movie series in Vancouver for the last few years, and wants locals to know that she’s approachable.

“In Vancouver it is the only time I catch people on the street just taking my picture without telling me and I feel like, you can just ask!”

Meanwhile, MuchMore’s Matt Wells brought Lee Daniels, the director of the Oprah-produced film Precious’ to tears…

Matt: This is not so much about escaping from reality but reminding people about reality.

Daniels: It’s uh, I just got a little veclempt…. I can’t have this interview right now I’m sorry just give me a minute.

Luckily he was able to finish the interview and we’ll have more on the that film and more in our MuchNews TIFF special September 22nd at 10 pm ET.
