Jennifer Lawrence may have become a blockbuster actress as a result of her roles in The Hunger Games and The Silver Linings Playbook, but she’s also a girl who still lives at home with her parents. During a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Lawrence told the talk show host that she is is concerned she will be removed from the group who decides the Oscar winners every year after her mom Karen stole her ballot as a joke while she was in the UK, and she is now worried she will not be allowed to vote again.
She said “I get a call from my mother while I was in England and she goes, ‘I did something hilarious’. And I’m thinking, ‘What?’ And she’s like, ‘I voted’. And I was like, ‘You voted for what?’ ‘The Oscars.’ And I was like, ‘You voted for the Oscars, what do you mean?’ And she goes, ‘The ballot came here and I voted!’ Because she thought I’d be, like, ‘That’s hilarious.’ Fortunately, she did it wrong and mailed it back to herself, so I got to do it again.”
Laughing, Jennifer exclaimed “I’m going to get kicked out of the Academy!” Jennifer admits her mother is a fun-loving person and is always finding ways of having a good time. “Oh she’s very happy. She has more fun than I do.”
Jennifer’s latest film The Silver Linings Playbook, which also stars Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro, opens today.
