In addition to being the go-to ‘it girl’ for every major film coming out in the next ten years, Jennifer Lawrence also seems to be the go-to girl for book-to-film adaptations. Starring in Winter’s Bone, The Hunger Games, The Silver Linings Playbook and X-Men, Lawrence is no stranger to the written word being translated onto the big screen. Now the actress is being touted as the possible lead in the film adaptation of Jeannette Walls bestseller, Glass Castle. As someone who read (and cried her way) through the Glass Castle, Lawrence is the perfect pick for the role.
Glass Castle spent 250 weeks on the bestseller list, a record-breaking feat for a memoir. In the Glass Castle, Walls, now a reporter, chronicles her poverty-stricken childhood spent being raised by her eccentric parents, while Walls struggled with her brother and sisters to survive. Kinda like District 12, except no one has to fight to the death.
