Yesterday, blogs were buzzing with the news that Jennifer Lopez had parted ways with longtime record label Sony Music. The announcement, which came from Lopez’s manager Benny Medina, launched speculation that J.Lo’s latest album would not be released this summer as previously planned.
But Jenny from the Block is putting rumours to rest herself. In a statement released today, Lopez said she has already signed a new deal and the new album, titled Love? will indeed drop this summer.
“I am making this statement to put an end to any confusion in regards to my next album, titled Love,” she said via a fan site. “I have fulfilled my contractual responsibilities with Sony/Epic up to this point, and we have both reached friendly terms about my departure from the label.”
While J.Lo wouldn’t divulge which label she’s with, Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Island Def Jam is the album’s new home. Deadline Hollywood is also the blog that first announced Lopez’s split with Sony.
