John Mayer performing with Frank Ocean on SNL premiere

After making his MTV VMA performance debut during last Thursday’s show (watch it here), Frank Ocean is getting ready to take on another famous stage. The Channel Orange singer is busy rehearsing for this Saturday’s season premiere of Saturday Night Live, where he will perform for the first time on SNL as the musical guest. Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane is confirmed as the host for Saturday’s show.

Ocean tweeted that fellow musician and White collaborator John Mayer will be performing alongside him on SNL, with Mayer confirming the tweet by posting a picture of Frank rehearsing on his Tumblr page. I assume that Mayer’s contribution to the performance will go as far as his guitar, since the singer underwent a second surgery this summer on his vocal chords and has been put on vocal rest for six months.

The 38th season of Saturday Night Live premieres September 15th.
