Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer star in The Lone Ranger

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski have teamed up with their Pirates of The Carribean star Johnny Depp to remake The Lone Ranger, with The Social Network’s Armie Hammer in the lead role. Depp will play Tonto, a Native American spirit warrior.
The film’s trailer includes all the high-priced special effects and sets that we’ve come to expect from Bruckheimer, but with Depp, Hammer and Helena Bonham Carter as the movie’s three stars, the strong cast will hopefully save it from being just another big-budget middle of the road spectacle.
The Lone Ranger is set to be released on July 3, 2013 and will feature a music score by Jack White.
